Legislation Details

Establishes a task force or similar structure within the Department of Justice to investigate and prosecute trade-related crimes.
Defines “trade-related crimes” as violations related to evasion of duties, tariffs, import/export restrictions, and other relevant laws.
Mandates the creation of new positions for criminal trial attorneys and support personnel within the Criminal Division to focus on trade-related crime cases.
Aims to increase the capacity and capabilities of the Criminal Division to prosecute trade-related crimes, including health, safety, financial, and economic violations.
