Legislation Details
- Amends the Public Health Service Act to include rural emergency hospitals in the 340B drug discount program as covered entities.
- Specifies that to qualify, a rural emergency hospital must:
- Be owned or operated by a state or local government,
- Be a public or private non-profit corporation formally granted governmental powers by a state or local government, or
- Be a private non-profit rural emergency hospital with a contract to provide health care services to low-income individuals not covered by Medicare or eligible for state assistance.
