Emphasizes the importance of educating individuals, families, healthcare professionals, and first responders on the benefits of naloxone and how to administer it.
Calls for identifying and addressing barriers to obtaining and distributing naloxone, including cost considerations.
Supports increasing access to naloxone to give individuals with opioid use disorder a chance at recovery.
Acknowledges the FDA’s action to authorize over-the-counter sales of naloxone.
