This bill changes how Medicare decides which Accountable Care Organization (ACO) a patient is linked to. Starting with performance years on or after January 1, 2027, Medicare would also count primary care services delivered by certain ACO professionals (as defined in existing law) when assigning patients to an ACO. The goal is to better reflect where people actually get their primary care, which can help ACOs coordinate care and improve outcomes for patients.
