Requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to offer boxing-based exercise classes as a medical service to enrolled veterans diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease or similar movement disorders. The VA may provide classes at its facilities or reimburse approved non-VA classes when a veteran elects that treatment; coverage applies to services furnished 180 days after the law is enacted. This creates a new statutory duty for VA to furnish or reimburse boxing therapy as part of medical care for covered movement disorders and sets an effective date for implementation.
Official title: To amend title 38, United States Code, to direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to provide coverage for boxing-based exercise classes for veterans diagnosed with certain movement disorders, and for other purposes.
