Remembers the 75th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War and honors the bravery and sacrifice of U.S. forces, allied forces, and civilians. The resolution recalls the U.S. and U.N. response to North Korea’s 1950 invasion, notes wartime losses and long-term effects (including South Korea’s development and the U.S.–Republic of Korea alliance), reaffirms commitment to maintaining strong military readiness, and urges continued investment in training and equipment.
The measure is a nonbinding Senate resolution focused on commemoration and public messaging: it recognizes the Republic of Korea as a key treaty ally, highlights the war’s continuing influence on Indo‑Pacific defense policy, and asks Americans to remember the conflict and its sacrifices.
Passed/agreed to in Senate: Submitted in the Senate, considered, and agreed to without amendment and with a preamble by Unanimous Consent.
