Confronting CCP Human Rights Abusers Act

This measure tells the U.S. Commerce Department to add China’s Ministry of Public Security’s Institute of Forensic Science to its “entity list” within 60 days. It also names two aliases of the same institute, so those are covered too. The President can waive this only if, within the same 60-day window, there’s a written certification to Congress that the institute is not acting against U.S. foreign policy interests and is not involved in human rights abuses tied to repression of Uyghurs, Kazakhs, and other Muslim minorities in Xinjiang.
