Referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and in addition to the Committees on Ways and Means, and Education and Workforce, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
This bill would make health insurance plans let you get up to a full year’s supply of birth control at once, with no copay. If your plan already covers a contraceptive, you could choose to pick up as much as a 365-day supply in a single fill or refill. This rule would apply to both job-based plans and individual plans, and it would not depend on changes to medical guidelines.
The change would start with plan years that begin on or after January 1, 2026. Federal agencies would also run outreach within 90 days of the law’s enactment to inform people and health care providers about the new benefit.
