This bill changes immigration law to make certain noncitizens easier to keep out of the U.S. or remove. If a noncitizen is convicted of defrauding the U.S. government or unlawfully receiving public benefits, they could be deported. It also says a noncitizen can be denied entry if they are convicted of, or admit to, such offenses, including conspiracies. “Public benefits” here means programs defined in federal law, and can include federal, state, or local benefits as defined in the 1996 welfare reform law.
