Referred to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and in addition to the Committees on Foreign Affairs, and Armed Services, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
This measure says that any flowers or greenery officially displayed in public areas of certain federal buildings must be grown in the United States. It applies to buildings used by the Executive Office of the President, the State Department, and the Defense Department. Personal displays by federal workers are not covered. The change would start one year after the law is enacted.
