Introduced October 23, 2025 by Charles Ernest Grassley · Last progress October 23, 2025
Requires the Attorney General, working with the Secretary of Homeland Security and the FBI Director, to prepare an initial report within 150 days and then annual reports on gang activity, how gangs are investigated and prosecuted, and related data. Reports may be classified if officials determine classification is necessary.
The law frames the reports as a response to rising violent crime and a large share of violent crime attributed to gangs, and it directs federal leadership to produce regular, up‑to‑date information intended to inform policymakers. It does not appropriate funds or change criminal penalties.
