No Woke Indoctrination of Military Kids Act

This bill would ban teaching or training tied to “critical race theory” in Department of Defense schools for military families. It blocks using school funds to teach or promote those ideas, require students to agree with them, run related trainings, or buy materials that include them. The bill defines “critical race theory” to include concepts like saying people are inherently racist or sexist because of their race or sex, that the United States is fundamentally racist or sexist, that moral worth is based on race, or that people should feel guilt or distress because of their race or sex.

It also stops diversity, equity, inclusion, or accessibility activities in these schools. That means no DEI offices, no chief diversity officer, no DEI plans, surveys, or data dashboards, no DEI trainings (including on intersectionality), no equity teams, and no race-, ethnicity-, nationality-, sexual orientation-, or gender-identity-based affinity groups. Equal Employment Opportunity offices and Americans with Disabilities Act enforcement can continue. The Secretary of Defense must enforce these rules, can discipline employees or contractors who willfully break them, and must set up a way for parents to file complaints. The rules take effect within 60 days after becoming law.
