Authorizing the use of Emancipation Hall in the Capitol Visitor Center for a ceremony to present the Congressional Gold Medals awarded under the Harlem Hellfighters Congressional Gold Medal Act.
The resolution publicly honors the Harlem Hellfighters and advances inclusive historical recognition, at the trade-off of modest federal logistical costs and potential limits on in-person access.
To direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to develop and implement, as part of the National Clearinghouse for Long-Term Care Information, a public education initiative on the need for individuals to plan for their long-term care, and for other purposes.
Washington Spy Ring National Historic Trail Designation Act
To expand the definition of institution of higher education in the Higher Education Act of 1965 with respect to certain graduate medical schools located outside of the United States.
This change trades clearer, more specific statutory guidance for particular graduate medical schools (helping administration and reducing ambiguity) against the risk that new, tailored conditions could impose compliance costs and alter student eligibility or funding.
SACRED Act
The bill strengthens protections and civil remedies for worshippers and religious institutions near places of worship, but it increases criminal and civil exposure for protesters and may chill speech and create legal uncertainty about permissible protest conduct.
Taxpayer Advocate Continuity Act
The bill keeps critical IRS assistance and administrative remedies available to taxpayers during funding gaps—protecting vulnerable people—while trading off increased IRS spending during shutdowns that may complicate budget enforcement, invite legal disputes over scope, and reprioritize limited IRS resources.
HOPE Act
The bill extends near‑term affordability and access—lowering premiums for many and lengthening enrollment while boosting fraud protections—at the cost of higher federal spending, increased insurer and administrative burdens, potential reductions in in‑person assistance, and some privacy/implementation risks.
Legacy Act of 2025
The bill seeks to improve access to and standardization of advance directives through a National Academies study and potential centralization, trading better care coordination and policy guidance against elevated privacy risks, implementation complexity, and possible taxpayer costs.
To advance bipartisan, common sense solutions.
The bill channels new revenues into infrastructure, climate R&D, health, and voting/access reforms while creating new taxes and compliance regimes that raise costs for households, businesses, and government operations and reduce some regulatory and procedural flexibilities.
