POWER Act of 2025
The bill lets utilities pair emergency restoration with hazard mitigation to speed recovery and reduce future outage costs, but it raises near‑term federal spending and risks uneven prioritization and treatment across communities and utilities.
Shared Micromobility Investment Act
No WAR Act
SAW Act
The bill strengthens protections for predators and public safety on Federal lands by creating clearer enforcement and deterrence, but does so by imposing new felony penalties and expanding federal authority in ways that raise costs, enforcement ambiguity, and sovereignty concerns for rural and tribal communities.
POP Act
The bill strengthens enforcement and reduces insurer-provider affiliations to improve patient choice and direct funds to harmed communities, but it risks disrupting integrated care, imposing financial losses and compliance costs, and creating legal uncertainty for providers and owners.
Smith River National Recreation Area Expansion Act
The bill strengthens long-term protection of rivers, aquatic resources, forest health and tribal access—trading increased federal land acquisition, regulatory limits on development and certain local uses, and added administrative and budgetary costs for environmental, public-safety, and cultural benefits.
Columbia River Clean-Up Act
The bill extends authorization for Columbia River Basin restoration through FY2026–FY2030, providing more time and federal support for environmental, infrastructure, and public‑health improvements in the basin while imposing modest additional federal costs and administrative disruptions for local implementers and taxpayers.
To amend title 5, United States Code, to include Parkinson's disease in the list of illnesses and diseases deemed to be proximately caused by employment in fire protection activities, and for other purposes.
The bill makes it easier for federal firefighters with Parkinson's disease to receive benefits by creating a work-related presumption, trading broader access and faster claims processing against higher federal costs and a risk of expanding future obligations.
Wildfire Resilient Communities Act
The bill directs large, targeted federal investments to accelerate fuels reduction, local payments, and resilience projects that should reduce wildfire risk and protect watersheds, but it substantially increases federal spending while reducing some oversight and creating ecological, distributional, and administrative risks that could undermine equitable and accountable outcomes.
Wall Street Tax Act of 2025
The bill strengthens IRS oversight and clarifies the law for controlled foreign corporations, improving enforcement but imposing increased compliance costs, privacy concerns, and near-term transition burdens on multinational taxpayers and financial institutions.
