Remembering Our Local Heroes Act

This bill sets up a federal grant program, run by the Department of the Interior, to help communities and nonprofits pay for memorials honoring veterans, law enforcement officers, and firefighters. The money can be used to build new memorials or to restore, renovate, or maintain existing ones. Projects with strong local support, and those honoring people who showed exceptional public service or bravery that put their lives at risk, would be given priority.
