This bill would make TV providers give customers money back when channels go dark because of contract fights. If your cable or satellite company stops showing programming that was part of your plan due to negotiations, they must issue you a rebate for the time you lost access. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) would set the rules for how this works and decide the rebate amount.
The FCC must put these rules in place within 90 days after the law takes effect, so customers don’t have to wait long for the protections to start.
