This bill tells the U.S. Department of Transportation to update the federal definition of “motorcycle.” The new definition says a motorcycle is a motor vehicle, as originally made, with a seat or saddle you sit astride, designed to travel on no more than three wheels, steered with handlebars, with acceleration and brakes controlled by the handlebars and foot controls, and able to go faster than 30 miles per hour.
The Department must issue the needed regulations within 120 days after the law takes effect so the Code of Federal Regulations matches this definition.
