This bill would stop federal money from paying for certain animal research. It blocks any federal funding—direct or indirect—for studies that try to change a non‑human animal’s body so it no longer matches its biological sex. This includes using drugs, hormones, surgery, or other methods to alter the animal’s sex traits. The bill applies to “qualified animals,” which are non‑human vertebrates such as mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, and amphibians.
