Creates a pilot program to improve roadway safety by linking real-time weather hazard alerts with active work zone data, so drivers and state roadway operators get integrated, targeted alerts. The Department of Transportation (in coordination with NOAA and FHWA partners) must recruit at least five States (including one rural State), develop technical protocols, deploy and test integrated alert systems with participating State DOTs, allow use of certain FHWA funds for eligible activities, and report findings on feasibility, costs, and safety impacts within three years.
