NETWORK
via NETWORK LOBBY FOR CATHOLIC SOCIAL JUSTICE
NETWORK opposes H.Con.Res. 14, the Resolution on the Budget for Fiscal Year 2025. This resolution sets in motion a bill that, if passed, will cut $230 Billion from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance program to pay for 7 trillion tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy and corporations. NETWORK opposes H.R. 1 because it enriches the wealthy at the expense of working families. NETWORK opposes the House Continuing Resolution because it fails to remedy the expiration of the ACA enhanced premium tax credit before the beginning of ACA open enrollment, Nov. 1. This will lead to 5 million Americans losing healthcare coverage.

COALITION ON HUMAN NEEDS
via COALITION ON HUMAN NEEDS
CHN opposes cuts to human needs programs, including TANF and the Social Services Block Grant. CHN supports improvements and expansions in mandatory programs such as Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, the Childrens Health Insurance Program (CHIP), the Affordable Care Act, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and child nutrition services, unemployment insurance, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and child welfare and family support programs. These programs provide essential services, with special attention to the needs of people with low incomes, including children, seniors, and people with disabilities. CHN opposes policies that give states incentives to take away income assistance from people via changes to TANF.
