A functioning democracy relies on the premise that people can express their political views freely without fear of being attacked or assassinated. Political violence is political cowardice. It is unacceptable in all forms.
In 1933, Justice Louis Brandeis said: “We can have democracy in this country or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of the few, but we cannot have both.” What he said was true 93 years ago. It’s even more accurate today. Let us choose democracy over oligarchy.
