On Monday, the House passed my bill, the Shivwits Band of Paiutes Jurisdictional Clarity Act. This legislation strengthens the Shivwits Band’s sovereignty by clarifying the Tribe’s authority over its own lands and removing barriers to economic development on the reservation.
Garfield County needs more space in their jail. I got to see firsthand how the facility is operating and talk about options to make sure law enforcement has the resources to do their jobs safely.
