The right to vote is not negotiable. It is not optional. It is the foundation of everything else in this country.

I am saddened by the passing of my colleague, Congressman David Scott. He served Georgia with dedication and was a proud member of the Congressional Black Caucus, where he stood firm for justice and opportunity for our communities. My prayers are with his family and loved ones.

On this Earth Day, I am reminded that we have a duty to protect our planet for our children and grandchildren. Let’s work together to keep our communities clean, strengthen our environment, and build a healthier future for all. There is no Planet B.
