Trump and Republicans gave ICE an $85 billion slush fund last year. ICE used that money to terrorize Black and Brown Minnesotans through "Operation Metro Surge." Now Republicans want to send this rogue agency another $70 billion. ICE shouldn't get another cent.
We cannot build a just nation without directly confronting the inequities facing Black communities. As we celebrate African Heritage Day, let us recommit to equity, to justice, and to building a Minnesota where Black communities don’t just survive, but truly thrive.
