As we approach our nation’s 250th birthday in 5 short days, we must remember the price of our freedom. Thank you to our service members, past and present, who have courageously risked their lives in defense of freedom for their fellow countrymen.
Today we pause to remember our intern, Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, who was taken by senseless violence exactly one year ago. Eric’s tragic murder forced Washington to finally wake up, catalyzing sweeping crime reform and President Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to D.C.
I was happy to meet with the Secretary of the Air Force, Dr. Troy Meink last week. We discussed the Air Force’s budget request and their Point Defense Battle Lab initiative, which has been designated to the 184th Wing of the Kansas National Guard at McConnell Air Force Base.
As our nation prepares to celebrate #America250, it is a perfect time to reflect on the core principles of public service. A government of the people, by the people, and for the people requires transparent stewardship of public resources. Ensuring every taxpayer dollar is used
