Beaver Damage and Conflict Management in Wisconsin

Wildlife Services (WS), a program within the United States Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, has issued a Decision and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for a Final Environmental Assessment (EA) titled "Beaver Damage and Conflict Management in Wisconsin". The EA analyzes the potential environmental impacts of alternatives for WS involvement in beaver damage and conflict management in Wisconsin. The proposed action is to implement an integrated approach using a variety of methods to reduce beaver damage to human health and safety, agricultural resources, property, and natural resources. Based on the analyses contained in the EA and the associated Decision and FONSI, WS concluded that implementation of the proposed action (Alternative 1) would not have a significant impact upon the quality of the human environment. WS signed the Decision and FONSI on May 12, 2026, selecting the proposed action alternative.
