US Ecology Nevada, Inc. High Mercury Subcategory Land Disposal Restrictions Variance

EPA is proposing to approve an alternative treatment standard for high-concentration mercury wastes for US Ecology Nevada, Inc. (US Ecology) in response to their petition for a Land Disposal Restrictions (LDR) treatment variance. If finalized, this variance will allow US Ecology to convert elemental mercury from high-level mercury-containing wastes to mercuric sulfide, followed by double encapsulation and monofill disposal.
