Clean Water Act Section 312 Uniform National Discharge Standards Pre-Proposal Recommendations

Administrative docket for pre-proposal recommendations on the forthcoming Clean Water Act Section 312(n) Uniform National Discharge Standards for vessels of the Armed Forces. This proposed rulemaking will only regulate discharges from vessels of the Armed Forces of the United States. This is a joint rulemaking between the EPA and the Department of War. The agencies are working on rulemaking to develop performance standards for the three discharges; clean ballast, compensated ballast and dirty ballast.
