Standards for Section 501(c)(3) Status of Limited Liability Companies (Notice 2021-56)

This notice announces that the Department of the Treasury (Treasury Department) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) intend to issue proposed regulations or other guidance concerning the standards that a limited liability company (LLC) must satisfy to be exempt from taxation by reason of being described in § 501(c)(3).
