Proposed Amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure

The Judicial Conference Advisory Committee on Civil Rules has proposed amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and requested that the proposals be circulated to the bench, bar, and public for comment. The public comment period opens on August 15, 2025, and closes on February 16, 2026. Please see pages 33-67 of the preliminary draft of proposed amendments for the civil materials. Any notices posted with the preliminary draft contain public hearing dates and contact information for more details. Hearings will be held virtually.
