Security Zone; Bayfront Convention Center, Erie, PA

The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary security zone for navigable waters within a 1,000-yard radius of the Bayfront Convention Center in Erie, PA at 42°8’16” N, 80°5’41.2” W. These coordinates are based on the 1984 World Geodetic System. The security zone has been requested by the United States Secret Service and is needed to protect from damage or injuries to vessels and waterfront facilities, while safeguarding the waters, ports, and harbors from potential threats that may result from a visit from a Presidential candidate. Entry of vessels or persons into this zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port Eastern Great Lakes.
