Security Zone; Republican Party Nomination VPOTUS Visit, Lake Michigan, Milwaukee Harbor, Milwaukee River, Milwaukee, WI

The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary security zone within Lake Michigan, Milwaukee Harbor, and certain waters of the Milwaukee River near the Daniel W. Hoan Memorial Bridge (Highway 794 Bridge) in Milwaukee, WI. This action is necessary to provide for the safety of life on these navigable waters during a visit by the Republican Party Nomination for Vice President of the United States on October 20, 2024. This rule prohibits persons and vessels from being in the security zone unless authorized by the Captain of the Port Lake Michigan (COTP) or a designated representative.
