Safety Zones; Annual events requiring safety zones in the Captain of the Port Lake Michigan zone—Gary Air and Water Show

The Coast Guard will enforce a safety zone for the Gary Air and Water Show from August 8 through August 10, 2025, to provide for the safety of life on navigable waterways during this event. Our regulation for marine events within the Captain of the Port (COTP) Lake Michigan Zone identifies the safety zone for this event in Gary, IN. During the enforcement period, entry into, transiting, or anchoring within the safety zone is prohibited unless authorized by the COTP Lake Michigan or a designated on-scene representative.
