Renewable Fuels Month: Senate agreed to S. Res. 747, expressing support for the designation of May 2026 as “Renewable Fuels Month” to recognize the important role that renewable fuels play in lowering fuel prices for consumers, lessening reliance on foreign adversaries, supporting rural communities, and reducing carbon impacts.

National Mushroom Day: Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry was discharged from further consideration of S. Res. 676, recognizing and honoring National Mushroom Day and the contributions of Chester and Berks Counties to the national mushroom industry and to healthy diets, and the resolution was then agreed to.

Expanding Whistleblower Protections for Contractors Act: Senate passed S. 4631, to ensure that whistleblowers, including contractors, are protected from retaliation when a Federal employee orders a reprisal.
AUTHORIZING LEADERSHIP TO MAKE APPOINTMENTS—AGREEMENT: A unanimous- consent agreement was reached providing that, notwithstanding the upcoming adjournment of the Senate, the President of the Senate, the President Pro Tempore, and the Majority and Minority Leaders be authorized to make appointments to commissions, committees, boards, conferences, or interparliamentary conferences authorized by law, by concurrent action of the two Houses, or by order of the Senate.
SIGNING AUTHORITY—AGREEMENT: A unanimous-consent agreement was reached providing that all members of the Republican conference be authorized to sign duly enrolled bills or joint resolutions from May 21, 2026, through June 1, 2026.
PRO FORMA SESSIONS—AGREEMENT: A unanimous-consent agreement was reached providing that the Senate convene for pro forma sessions, with no business being conducted on the following dates and times: Friday, May 22, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.; Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 8 a.m.; Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 3:30 p.m.; and that when the Senate recesses on Thursday, May 28, 2026, it next convene at 3 p.m., on Monday, June 1, 2026.
