Ms. WILSON of Florida. Mr Speaker, I rise today to recognize and honor the winners of the LEGO Build the Change event, held in Miramar, on October 9, 2012. This is the first time the event has been held in a United States city, after being hosted in countries like Australia, Denmark and Singapore.
Miramar elementaiy schools to build their vision of the city in 2040, using one ton of mixed LEGO bricks and pieces.
Pratdesabe, Amanda Joloya, Nicolette Pysher, and Sophia Bedoya. Dolphin Bay Elementary also took second place. The second place winners are Sean Bage, Noah Jenkins, Nicholas Radlein, Rachel Smith, and Alejandra Mora. Third place was a tie between Sea Castle Elementary and Sunshine Elementary schools. The third place winners from Sea Castle Elementary School are: Abbi Lynch, Marisa Ali, Dyani Fox, Tesia Innocent, and Treasure Lynch. The third place winnders from Sunshine Elementary School are: Patrick Shaw, Mesha Benjamin, Vhanroy Hosear, and Hartania Ramsay.
The event was held to celebrate “Community Planning Month.” The City of Miramar partnered with Joe Dimaggio Children's Hospital at Memorial Miramar, which was the title sponsor.
