Adds new 38 U.S.C. 1720M, entitled 'Full-year supply of contraceptive pills, transdermal patches, vaginal rings, and other contraceptive products', which requires that veterans enrolled in the system of annual patient enrollment may elect to fill prescriptions for contraceptive pills, transdermal patches, vaginal rings, or other contraceptive products as a full-year supply, requires Department medical providers who prescribe such products to notify veterans of the option, and defines 'contraceptive product' with cross-references to provisions of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and the Public Health Service Act.
Amends the table of sections at the beginning of chapter 17 by inserting a new item for section 1720M after the item relating to section 1720L.
Requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to offer eligible veterans the option to receive a full-year supply of prescribed contraceptive products (such as pills, transdermal patches, and vaginal rings). VA medical providers who prescribe these products must inform veterans about the full-year supply option, and the law defines what counts as a “contraceptive product.”
