This bill keeps the FAA’s training school in Oklahoma City open during a government shutdown. It requires the FAA Academy to continue air traffic controller training and other needed support so new controllers can keep moving through the pipeline even if funding lapses .
It also says that FAA employees who work at the Academy, and students at the Academy who are FAA employees, won’t be furloughed during a shutdown. They must keep working so training does not stop .
