Read twice and referred to the Committee on Finance.
This proposal would stop the extra import taxes tied to the February 1, 2025 national emergency from being charged on goods that small businesses bring into the United States or have imported for their use. In short, if you’re a small business under the Small Business Act’s definition, those emergency-related duties would not apply to your imports anymore .
The change specifically targets the emergency duties created by the President’s orders from February and later updates, so the relief is limited to those added charges—not all tariffs or fees. It’s meant to lower costs for small businesses that rely on imported parts, supplies, or products .
