This bill changes immigration rules to target fraud. Non‑U.S. citizens who are convicted of, or admit to, Social Security fraud, identification document fraud, or certain COVID‑19 relief fraud could be denied entry to the United States or removed from the country. It adds these offenses to the list of reasons someone can be found inadmissible or deportable under immigration law .
The COVID‑19 fraud covered includes fraud tied to pandemic‑era loans or grants, such as those made under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 and the Economic Aid to Hard‑Hit Small Businesses, Nonprofits, and Venues Act.
