This bill tells the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to bring back an older rule that lets certain people manage double-crested cormorants at fish farms. The rule must be reissued within one year of when the bill becomes law and should be the same as the 2016 version, but with a wider reach.
It also expands who can act under the rule and where it applies. “Lake managers” and “pond managers” who are licensed by their state to manage private lakes or ponds are included, and the rule is extended to more states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, in addition to the states covered before.
