Referred to the Committee on Armed Services, and in addition to the Committee on Intelligence (Permanent Select), for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
Introduced December 4, 2025 by Ryan Zinke · Last progress December 4, 2025
Directly condemns public statements by six Members of Congress that urged military and intelligence personnel to defy orders in a widely shared video, calling that rhetoric dangerous, seditious, and harmful to troops and national security. It affirms the President’s constitutional role as Commander in Chief and notes that failure to obey lawful military orders can be punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
The measure is a House resolution that denounces the speech as putting service members and their families at risk, undermining national security, and showing disrespect for the military and intelligence communities; it is declaratory and does not create new penalties, funding, or program changes.
