SEC. 1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the or the "Deregulating Restrictions on Interstate Vehicles and Eighteen-wheelers Act" or "DRIVE Act".
SEC. 2. Prohibition on requiring speed limiting devices
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration may not issue any rule or regulation to require vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of more than 26,000 pounds operating in interstate commerce to be equipped with a speed limiting device set to a maximum speed.
