SEC. 1. Short title
- This Act may be cited as the Faithful Patriot Campaign Medal Act.
SEC. 2. Faithful Patriot Campaign Medal
- (a) Service medal required
- The Secretary of Defense shall design and produce a military service medal, to be known as the , to honor members of the Armed Forces and veterans who served on the border of the United States with Mexico in the course of Operation Faithful Patriot or a subsequent operation at such border.

- The Secretary of Defense shall design and produce a military service medal, to be known as the , to honor members of the Armed Forces and veterans who served on the border of the United States with Mexico in the course of Operation Faithful Patriot or a subsequent operation at such border.
- (b) Distribution of medal
- (1) Issuance to retired and former members
- At the request of an individual described in subsection (a), the Secretary of Defense shall issue the Faithful Patriot Campaign Medal to such individual.
- (2) Issuance to next-of-kin
- In the case of an individual described in subsection (a) who is deceased, the Secretary may provide for issuance of the Faithful Patriot Campaign Medal to the next-of-kin of the individual.
- (3) Application
- The Secretary shall prepare and disseminate as appropriate an application by which individuals described in subsection (a) and their next-of-kin may apply to receive the Faithful Patriot Campaign Medal.
