Referred to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, and in addition to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
This bill makes a federal rule on gas pipeline leak detection and repair take effect as soon as the law is enacted. It also lets the U.S. Department of Transportation tighten these safety rules later if needed, setting stronger protections than the rule now taking effect.
