SEC. 1. Short title
- This Act may be cited as the or the .
SEC. 2. Enhanced leadership oversight procedures
- of title 10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new section: Chapter 80
- Not later than 15 days after a general officer or flag officer is involuntarily reassigned, separated, or retired, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a written notification containing—
- the rationale for the reassignment, separation, or retirement, including whether the reassignment, separation, or retirement was related to conduct, performance, policy disagreements, or other factors; and
- a summary of the process followed in reaching the decision to involuntarily reassign, separate, or retire the officer, including any consultations with the Secretary of the military department concerned.
- Not later than 15 days after a general officer or flag officer is involuntarily reassigned, separated, or retired, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a written notification containing—
