Hire Student Veterans Act

This bill would let employers get the Work Opportunity Tax Credit when they hire veterans who are going to school using education benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs or the Department of Defense. It adds student veterans using programs like the GI Bill and related benefits to the list of workers who can qualify an employer for the credit .

It also changes the minimum amount of time a new hire must work for the employer to claim the credit. These changes would apply to people who start their jobs after the law is enacted .
