Requires the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to send Congress an annual report listing every veteran who died during the reporting period along with specified information about each death, and to provide totals by primary cause of death and by manner of death. The reporting requirement is created as a new section in title 38 and automatically sunsets five years after enactment.
The reports go to the congressional veterans’ affairs committees and are intended to give lawmakers a regular, detailed picture of veteran mortality patterns; the law does not specify new funding or privacy safeguards in the text provided.
Read twice and referred to the Committee on Veterans' Affairs.
