This bill says the United States must follow the 1977 treaty with Canada about pipelines that cross the border. It bars the President, or anyone the President appoints, from taking actions that would break that agreement. The bill is called the “Line 5 Act.”
In short, it aims to keep U.S. actions in line with the transit pipelines agreement signed on January 28, 1977, so federal leaders can’t violate it.
