This Act may be cited as the "McCarran-Walter Technical Corrections Act".
SEC. 2. Members of a federally recognized Indian Tribe in the United States or a First
Nation in Canada
Section 289 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1359) is amended by striking and inserting the following: “who—
(1) are members, or are eligible to become members, of a federally recognized Indian Tribe in the United States; or (2) (A) has Indian status in Canada through registration under the Indian Act (R.S.C., 1985, c. I–5); or (B) holds membership in a self-governing First Nation in Canada..
