This bill would let the U.S. stop giving visas to people from NATO countries that aren’t meeting the alliance’s goal to spend at least 2% of their economy on defense. It gives the Secretary of State the power to halt visas for nationals of those countries until they meet the 2% target.
It also updates immigration law language to align who has the authority to make and carry out this decision, tying it to the Secretary of State for the visa cutoff described above.
